What can a children's song teach you about your health?

So my family and I are in week two of homeschooling. It's our first year and as scary as it sounds, it's also very liberating. So to sum it all up, we spend a lot of time in the library. I mean a LOT. This is a good thing because I love books and hopefully my son will too someday.

More than books, there are also a lot of cool DVD's, audiobooks and music to borrow from the library. We recently got a chance to listen to "Here Comes Science", a music DVD from the band They Might Be Giants.

Needless to say, I loved it! I've renewed it the maximum time that I can renew so now it's got to go back and spread joy to some other child (or adult!)

Among the songs about the elements, the planets and paleontologists is this little earworm:

It's catchy! I can't get it out of my head. Every moment that I'm about to put a piece of food in my mouth I can't help but think of this song and what it tells me about how my body uses food.

Mindfulness. It's a buzzword that's used quite often by gurus and Instagram quotes. But if we really think about what we consume in our bodies, what we put on our bodies and also in our minds through our thoughts, we'd see that this silly song is actually RIGHT ON POINT.

At this point, we realize that everything we eat is being put to use for the health of our cells or going straight to the trash. How many of your calories are completely useless to your body and are going to the garbage bin?

We aren't perfect people. No one is supposed to be. Maybe it's time for a little body and adrenal reset and tune-up? I'm starting a DETOX challenge later this month. Email me at service@glitteractive.com if you'd like to join. It's 100% free and full of information on how to cleanse your system. I recommend doing a good thorough detox once a season. Fall is coming. Let's do this together.
